Life Update!!!

 Hello everyone! I am back! Sorry for the 6-MONTH HIATUS💀. Needless to say, a lot has happened since I last posted! I figured this post could just be me filling everyone in on what's been happening in my life. Please read ahead if you are interested 😂.

Picking up right where we left off! In late June 2022, I did an internship for Paris Fashion Week Ready to Wear. I worked with a company called Studio Amelia and I learned A LOT. I worked in the showroom, which is a place where buyers come to look at the collection of a designer to purchase for the next season. I couldn't take any pictures of the showroom (obviously) but here is a picture of the Balmain building right across the street. I LOVED doing this internship. It was exactly what I needed to solidify to myself that I chose the right field for myself and that I could envision myself in something that this for the rest of my life.

About a month after that, my contract as au pair ended, and to end I went to Corse with my host family to visit some of their family. Corse is a very beautiful country and I had a great time but it was so incredibly hot that you could only do things in the early morning and evening. Also, let me just say, it is CRAZY how something can be so unknown to you yet so normal to someone else. (Do with that sentence what you will.)

After that, I spent a few more weeks running around Paris before returning to the US. Hitting up museums, saw all my friends, visited all my favorite restaurants, and visited quaint little towns around France. Of course, during this time I was also saying goodbye to a lot of other friends who had come there as an au pair as well. It's always so terrible to have to say goodbye to so many friends. And the fact that many of them live all over the globe is both a blessing and a curse because now I have so many places I need to go to in order to see them again!

I came back to the US in the middle of August and then I hit the ground running trying to find a job great news, I found a few lol. Currently, I work at a law firm downtown which has been great! I know nothing about the law except how to maybe not break it so I've had to learn everything new which has been a challenge but we must persist. 

I've also started styling photoshoots! I styled my first shoot with the help of my friends and sister. It was amazing. So much goes into styling them and I did not realize that lol. Normally you would be working for a company or magazine or with a team who would all have their own separate jobs and the stylist could just focus on styling. I don't have this luxury. I had to plan the location, outfits, models, photographer, and everything else on my own. I'm SOO thankful to have friends who are willing to help and bring their best to a shoot! I truthfully could not do it without them. I'm currently planning another one so we shall see how this turns out! *fingers crossed* I'm also taking an online styling class through WWD and FIT. It has been really helpful. Since I studied retail merchandising in college I didn't learn a ton about styling or even the creative side of fashion.

Ok, I think that's all the updates I have for yall right now. Now that life has settled down I will hopefully be able to write more here and get back to fashion topics. Also, if anyone wants a more detailed post about my time in France then comment or let me know!
